The WTF SEO Blog is where I get to post about various aspects of SEO; these posts are divided into both categories and tags to make them easier to find. The categories are just a way to show certain posts above others while the tags attack certain terms in a roundabout way.
I have a friend who has a website built by someone who offers Web Design in Ringwood. I pointed out to said friend that the links to the home page were incorrectly coded. So, as most of us would, he contacted the web designer guy in Ringwood and pointed out what I had said.
SEO’s should know better, yet many undertake frowned upon Local SEO techniques in order to gain clients. Two such techniques are using boilerplate’s and attacking terms that clients may use; such as Architect Midhurst.
If you have ever visit WTF SEO in the near future, you might notice a change. The words SEO Coach and SEO Consultant may well have been replaced by SEO Services, Social Media & Digital Marketing Agency. Why?

I get a lot of people asking me for help; most are extremely cautious due to the work of other SEO companies. They see SEO as a glorified protection racket. Sadly I have to agree with them.

I read an article from a local competitor that states “Why We Need To Stop Calling It SEO” yet under the title of “What is SEO” they show their lack of understanding of what SEO has become and why it is more important than ever.
It is amazing how powerful a blog can be. Not only for SEO; yes it can help you gain rankings if used correctly; it can also get your point across and cause change.

The reason is the domain name has expired and is currently not set for renewal. So in a little under 3 months it will be gone!
False claims from SEO Experts
Before I start I will just say don’t be fooled by claims from SEO Experts about being the best! I say this because I was looking through some search terms the other day and came across a company pertaining to be the UK’s No 1 SEO Experts. I was intrigued and so as any SEO Expert would do; I visited the website. Oh and yes they were on page 10 or somewhere where organic searchers would fear to tread.
I don’t like doing this; writing about a local company; however Feefo is in my mind, offering a paid for link-building service to their numerous clients including Iglu Cruises. Before I start; this is not an attack on Iglu; it just so happens I saw them on Feefo when I was doing my research. As I have mentioned them before; it seemed apt to add them here.
I Admit it; I Know Very Little About SEO

No; Mars has not attacked! One element of SEO work, be it in Travel SEO or elsewhere, that is often overlooked is the Robots Txt File which should be found as an extension to any home page. For instance at domain.com/robots.txt.
Iglu Cruise recently took over from cruise dot co dot uk as the number one cruise travel agent website in the UK within Google search pages for terms like Cheap Cruises; but will they stay there?
