As an SEO, I tend to work within many niches with Travel SEO being one of the main ones. I have recently started work on a number of travel websites; not just in Cruises.
Could Royal Caribbean’s branded websites be sunk in Google? Is Cruise1st trying to game Google in the way they are linking their domains?
OK; got your attention! I spend my day looking at websites in order to try and understand what makes them rank. Sometimes I come across something that looks suspicious. By that I mean, something that I think might go against Google’s webmaster guidelines.
OK; this may well be off target however Cruise Nation has risen up the rankings in Google for numerous cruise-related terms; so I took a look at their link profile and am not sure if what they are doing is right.
Cruise Nation is using Iframes (hence “I Frame Cruise Nation”) on at least 28 websites that belong to one person whom I will not name; these websites are all hosted from one ip address.
WTF SEO is now a Part Time SEO Consultancy that mainly focuses on Travel SEO and Local SEO for Small Businesses. The reason being that WTF SEO has a rather large contract that will take up most of my time and so I will only be able to offer smaller companies help and advice.
With moving to part time and the lack of need to rank for terms such as SEO Consultant I have no doubt that WTF SEO will start to fall from the highish rankings it now has. However; should I ever wish to go full time again and drop the part time element of the SEO consultancy then I have no doubt that these rankings will be regained rather quickly.

A response to a person who read a blog post; criticised it; made wrong assumptions about myself and my SEO work; went Ninja, and hid behind a false email address and phone number.
No; Mars has not attacked! One element of SEO work, be it in Travel SEO or elsewhere, that is often overlooked is the Robots Txt File which should be found as an extension to any home page. For instance at domain.com/robots.txt.
This file is very important as it tells Google et al what to index; i.e. add to their search results and what not to index; these could be private folders and files on the server or even a development test area.
Iglu Cruise recently took over from cruise dot co dot UK as the number one cruise travel agent website in the UK within Google search pages for terms like Cheap Cruises, but will they stay there?
I feel I need to add that as a Travel SEO, I have done some work in the past for a competitor of Iglu Cruise; namely Adore Cruises who have the sort of issues caused by having a link profile that used some techniques mentioned below.
