While doing my work as an SEO; I come across numerous examples of poor SEO. Often these examples of poor SEO also fall into other categories of SEO.
Not everyone will agree with all of my ideas as to what is poor and what is good SEO; I can live with that. What you need to do is ask yourself; can you?
I get a lot of people asking me for help; most are extremely cautious due to the work of other SEO companies. They see SEO as a glorified protection racket. Sadly I have to agree with them.
Like gangland thugs; these SEO’s demand a monthly fee, initially to promote their clients websites and after a while to release them from the jaws of the rampaging black and white animals belonging to that US based mob; Google.
OK; this may well be off target however Cruise Nation has risen up the rankings in Google for numerous cruise-related terms; so I took a look at their link profile and am not sure if what they are doing is right.
Cruise Nation is using Iframes (hence “I Frame Cruise Nation”) on at least 28 websites that belong to one person whom I will not name; these websites are all hosted from one ip address.
Before I start I will just say don’t be fooled by claims from SEO Experts about being the best! I say this because I was looking through some search terms the other day and came across a company pertaining to be the UK’s No 1 SEO Experts. I was intrigued and so as any SEO Expert would do; I visited the website. Oh and yes they were on page 10 or somewhere where organic searchers would fear to tread.
Hopefully the owners of the website (position1seo dot com) will read this and make some changes to their website; however I do not like the fact that he offers the sort of SEO packages that will get you into trouble one day…in my honest opinion that is.
I have created a new blog which will cover all sorts of topics; however, I did add a post that would have been better suited on here. It is entitled The “SEO Portsmouth” Search Results are a Load of Bollocks with a subheading of; is Someone trying to game Google for SEO Portsmouth?
Why I did it was I felt that someone may have been trying to game Google and by doing so pinch possible clients off people who had worked hard to gain top rankings for a local search term; in this case SEO Portsmouth.
No; Mars has not attacked! One element of SEO work, be it in Travel SEO or elsewhere, that is often overlooked is the Robots Txt File which should be found as an extension to any home page. For instance at domain.com/robots.txt.
This file is very important as it tells Google et al what to index; i.e. add to their search results and what not to index; these could be private folders and files on the server or even a development test area.
