There is No Such Thing as Dead Blogging
OK, I know there is no such thing as Dead Blogging, and live blogging still has its place. Also, I love the idea of live blogging. However, when it comes to SEO, those little liveblog_entry posts are not ideal. OK, they will not have much effect, but I want to use liveblogging in a different way. Hence, Dead Blogging!
Dead blogging is different from the live version. In dead blogging, I hide the individual snippets used to create the page. Google et al. can’t see them. In live blogging, these scraps of content often find their way into the index. I don’t want this. And yes, I know I could tell Google not to index them.
Why Use Dead Blogging
Anyhow, dead blogging gives me a way of adding content into predefined spaces, from a single entry point within the WordPress dashboard. It works in a similar style of entering relevant blog posts into a page. But without any links to the posts. So a dead blog post is part of the page, and nothing else.
Testing Dead Blogging
I am now using WTF SEO as a testbed for dead blogging. Initially, it will be on two pages, the ones for SEO Southampton and SEO Portsmouth. If that works, then I will try on a few more pages before trying it out on a website that runs solely of Dead Blogging entries.
